Peace Collective X Join the Fight

The other day I had the opportunity to shoot for one of my favourite local companies. Aside from their unique designs representing the city... It's really the morals of their business that had me intrigued. When Peace Collective started their company they dreamed to make a difference in the world.

The name speaks for itself.

Being a relatively new business, they have grown into an established brand and so did their dreams. While you can find their label in a number of stores around Toronto, they created a way to give back. Providing a month of school meals to children through the World Food Program with every garment sold. Who knows where their dreams will take them 5 or even 10 years down the road.

When I was studying politics, seeing the world at peace seemed almost impossible.

Realizing that most of our time was wasted talking about our problems rather than tackling them. Spending hours debating resolutions just to have them turned down. To focus on the how rather then the when, until it was too late.

Then I dabbled into art, finding new ways to carry out my love for politics. My hopes to see the world become a better place actually seemed doable. It might not be the most direct approach or even explainable through words. But at least it was possible to create change and find passion while doing it.
