Having a background in personal styling, I'm probably about to get into a lot of trouble saying this.. but I truly don't know whats in style right now. I NEVER follow the trends... and writing this post will probably lead to me NOT getting half of those jobs I just applied for. But honestly, I was never the girl who got into tumblr, didn't get intrigued by celebrity gossip..... I barely looked at blogs and wanted to create my own for god sake. Yet that right there is my whole point. It has always been a struggle for me to follow along with the social norm. And trust me I have gotten myself into a fair amount of trouble doing so, but something in me always wanted to create. For me, trends are bull shit. No one can tell you to wear something, during a certain season for it to look good.... All you need is to get in touch with your inner creativity and establish what you want your style to show off. Something that's really helped me with this, and my mother will totally disagree here.... Is I rarely take pleasure in getting rid of my clothes. You never know when something is gonna come back in style, or how a new piece may compliment an old one.. Call me a hoarder.... It gives me versatility and thats all I can ask for when I don't have a huge budget to spend.
Having expensive taste isn't always convenient..
I've actually had this top for a number of years now... Not that I wore it like this to begin with.. but I remember being in grade 10 doing class debates in this shirt. Once an attempted professional look now turned to more of a sexy feel. I think a very important thing for me is having outfits that can work from the start of my day to the very end...Start the day buttoned up, and end it buttoned down. AM I RIGHT?
I have had my readers ask me to post outfits that you could actually see yourself wearing around the city and here is a perfect example. These pants are AMAZING, so comfy... I have worn them to interviews, to bed and even TEQUILA JACKS. I rarely go partying but you will never see me in a dress, standing outside in -10 weather waiting to get in. NO.
