Getting Ready For A Formal Event W/ The COC.

This past Thursday I had the chance to stop by Operanation! Exactly what it sounds like, I enjoyed a night celebrating the musical synthesis of Opera. Full of exciting elixirs, culinary experiences, musical talents and a reinvention of Opera’s reputation, I was pleasantly surprised by the upbeat/ modern production. 

With performances by Juno award winning Kiesza alongside vocalists from the Canadian Opera Foundation, there was no doubt it was going to be anything but fabulous. 

I mean this event was clearly out of my league, which meant I knew I'd have to be dressed to a tee… The pressure was on, I knew I wanted a unique dress, but the question was where to find one?

I recently checked out Toronto’s no-appointment dress rental boutique, Studio Fitzroy. With an endless selection of dresses and accessories perfect for any event… I knew it was my best bet. Oh and did I mention they’re half the retail price, yeah.

I went with this amazing For Love & Lemons J’Adore Maxi, with a deep v and full see through lace, I already knew I was going for a Beyonce vibe (ok Iggy Azalea but that just sounds try hard). So hair was an important part of my look… which is exactly what brought me to my babe Tanya at Toni & Guy on Queen W.

You want braids, you go to Tanya, you want to feel like the girl you’ve always wanted to be. OH YA, you go to Tanya. In a mere half hour she had created a work of art on my head. With two french braids and one going straight down the middle of my head, I know it was going to be a show stopper.... plus this meant I didn't have to worry about my hair all night.
